Welcome to Texoma Scanner!

If you really think about it, the radio scanner is an electronic device which intercepts voice communications from every source available to the scanner - This web page is merely an extension to the scanner which intercepts every available bit of electronic information allowing the users to read rather than listen to whats going on within the community.

Texoma Scanner is a small radio scanner enthusiast community that focuses on local area radio scanning but does not make scanners live for the world to hear or publish sensitive information such as specific network information which would jeopardize the men and women of Public Safety in the field. We have a discussion forum and shout box but strictly enforce both so that our registered users are not abusing each other or casting negative light on our site.

We are about sharing scanner information the old school way "Discrete" the way it should have stayed before the big, corporate scanner websites took over. The information we collect we share privately and closely monitor who we share with. There are a few reason for this but the best reason is that we don't really want to see the Police or Fire fighters in our home town become endangered due to their radio information being scribbled on web walls everywhere.

We are here to help each other out with scanner information and technology but we listen because we like to. Most of us are licensed ham radio operators and some of us are members of the media and press. Just about all of us are good folks who don't want to jeopardize the work of Police but do like to listen in from time to time.

It is part of our mission at Texoma Scanner to not display sensitive radio information used by local, state or federal law enforcement. The information we have compiled through scanning is shared quietly and privately between each other and shall never be plastered on this website. (Sensitive meaning frequencies used for Narcotics interdiction, Organized crime surveillance and frequencies used by federal law enforcement even if running fulltime encryption.)

We are streaming live scanner radio traffic but this is local scanner traffic that anyone can hear if they own a scanner. For detailed information about what we scan and don't scan visit the Streaming Info page. Currently one can only hear this scanner traffic through our website. We are not on any mobile apps such as Tune in or scanner radio. We are streaming at 128 mbps on a Icecast server owned by Shouthost in addition to listening on our site, you can hop over to the stream server page and both listen there or download the stream to Winamp, iTunes, Windows media player or Quick time and enjoy the benefit of listening with Scanner Text tags. Go can now get our Mobile App for android, iphone and blackberry by clicking this link while on your mobile phone.

Membership on Texoma Scanner is free to anyone but you must create an account. We're not that nosy but we do want to know who is on the site and why.

Members of the media and public safety community are welcome to join as well. We only offer three forms of social interaction here, a chat box, private messaging and the forums. we are not facebook nor plan to be so those three options are the best we can offer.

Join today and take advantage of radio and scanner files, frequencies, discussion, help with scanners and so much more. Its free to join but you do need to register.

Hope to see you inside soon!
